The mission and purpose of the Porter County hazardous materials council shall be to advise the Porter County health officer on hazardous materials and substance handling issues. The council shall also assist the health officer and the board of county commissioners in establishing overall guidelines and policies with regard to the transportation and handling of hazardous materials and substances in Porter County.
